Beginning in September 2007, City of Coral Springs Commissioner Vince Boccard and Director
of Parks and Recreation Rick Engle, wanted to create a program where teens can be involved
in the community and at the same time learn a trade. With their passion for cars, they created
“Project CS,” a car club that allows teens to restore cars that have been confiscated by the
Coral Springs Police Department.

Our first project is a 2001 Chevy Blazer 4-door. In order for the Blazer to be the club’s
official show car, much restoration will be needed.

Our car club members range in age from 16 to 21 years old. We currently meet every
Wednesday at one of our sponsor's facilities, ABC Roofing, whose owner is a car enthusiast,
to discuss our plans for the Blazer and begin the restoration process. We look forward to
working on other vehicles and showcasing our work in well-known car venues. To raise funds,
we had our first car show in January 2008, which successfully brought out more than 100
cars and 1,000 spectators.

We currently have several sponsors such as Off the Hook Auto Accessories, RNL Audio
and Jason Landau – a specialist in after-market accessories. Landau started in sales for Lite
Glow since 2000, and then became sales manager. He is also in charge of all trade shows
and venues. A new key member to our project is Joseph Iglesias, formerly of Select Products.
He is a certified MECP installer with over 10 years of knowledge in custom installation and
training. He will be overseeing the training and installation process. Joe and the RNL team
will be providing support and knowledge on this and upcoming projects to benefit Project CS
and its members.

Project CS is not only a car club, but it’s a place where the City’s youth can learn technical
and leadership skills. Please help us by joining in partnership with Project CS and the City
of Coral Springs. All contributing members will have their logos displayed on the vehicles,
which will be showcased at many local car shows within the tri-county area throughout the
year and in an upcoming show on Coral Springs CityTV 25.
